Mariners harbor yacht club & Marina

OF STATEN ISLAND

About The Club

Mariners Harbor Yacht Club and marina, located on Staten Island, NY, is a boat club in existence since 1910, offering facilities for vessels both large and small. Situated on the north shore of Staten Island between the Goethals and Bayonne bridges, it is a short ride to  New York Harbor. MHYC is in a unique position to offer excellent and varied waters for boating activities. Easily accessible from Brooklyn and New Jersey via Staten Island's many bridges, MHYC has several off-island members. We have approximately 50 docking slips available for members.

Throughout the season MHYC has several parties, BBQs, and fishing tournaments. We offer members on-land storage for their vessels & trailers, free launching, plus water & electric at their docking slip. Several members also enjoy use of their Jet skis from the marina. Other amenities include free ice, restrooms, a fish cleaning station, and a commercial kitchen. For launching boats we have a rail car system that safely delivers boats into and from the water.  We have both a large and small travel lift to transport vessels throughout the marina.  Boats on trailers are able to utilize the marina ramp to launch their boats. The ramp is a private utility for club members and requires a membership for its use. Marina is available 12 months throughout the year with some members choosing to leave their boats in the water throughout the winter months.

The property is located on a secured 22,000 sq. ft. lot with an automatic power gate, motion sensing alarm system, and CCTV security system. The clubhouse, which has been completely renovated since Hurricane Sandy in 2013, contains a kitchen, separate male & female bathrooms, and a banquet hall. The hall has seating for approximately 100+, a performance stage, dance floor, live sound system, 2 bars, and multiple flat screen TVs. The hall is frequently utilized by club members for their personal use including weddings, family occasions, graduations, and many other events. There is ample space for parking on the grounds.

We presently have docking slips available for new members. After applying, there is a reasonably priced membership fee to join whereby you become a part owner of all facilities along with the other members.  Bi-annual storage & docking fees of $30/foot per vessel, which may be one of the most inexpensive prices in the metropolitan area, as well as low yearly dues. Upon joining, all members become part owners of MHYC, make decisions on present and future plans and projects and participate in work assignments to help maintain the marina and its facilities. No prior skills are required. Anyone interested in joining the Mariners Harbor Yacht Club can click onto 'contact' in upper right hand corner of this website, call 718-534-0352,  or visit us at 3387 Richmond Terrace. The Club, often described as a blue collar organization, is a Not for Profit organization and is, therefore, not able to accept commercial  applications.   Visitors are welcomed to tour the club and facilities. REST IN PEACE Brother Bryce!

Above picture of Bryce Murphy(wearing green t-shirt) together with the late Nels & Sal, helping to serve food at club party. Sadly, Bryce passed away recently. He was beloved and considered a friend by all. More than a friend, he was like family. His energy & dedication to MHYC is unsurpassed. He was selected & served several years as Commodore of Club. He worked tirelessly to organize & managed MHYC functions including but not limited to parties, fund raises, equipment & tech maintenance & repairs, & memorials. His passing leaves a huge void in our hearts. A memorial will be held on Sunday, December 1, at 12:30pm in the club barge to remember & honor this great man. Please join us & Bryce’s family for this solemn occasion to celebrate his life. We will all bring our fondest memories of Bryce. ………………………………………………………………………………… The fall has brought on unseasonably warm weather. But winter is around the corner.
